MEET MARISSA

Marissa Miller has over 15 years of experience as a writer and editor across numerous top-tier publications. She first joined CNN’s product recommendation department full-time in 2022 as a production editor, and now serves as the site's contributing editor covering all things health, wellness, fitness, fashion, beauty, interior design, tech, parenting and everything in between.

Prior to this role, she regularly wrote for publications including The New York Times, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, Teen Vogue, USA Today, NBC, The Washington Post, Women’s Health, BBC Travel, Cosmopolitan, GQ and more.

Marissa is the author of “Pretty Weird: Overcoming Impostor Syndrome and Other Oddly Empowering Lessons,” which was published by Skyhorse and distributed by Simon & Schuster in May 2021. You can find it everywhere books are sold, from Barnes & Noble to Indigo and Apple Books to Amazon. Her reporting for The New York Times has also been published in this best-selling anthology

Marissa has been recognized on the street for appearing on episode 1105 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E!, wherein she interviewed Kylie Jenner on her 18th birthday for an article in Teen Vogue. She transcribed their interview in lip liner, as one does. 

As a certified personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise with a specialization in orthopedic exercise, she enjoys creating custom fitness plans for clients of all levels and abilities, all the while leveraging her expertise as an athlete and trainer for a variety of brands including CNN, Nike, Glamour, SELF and more. Marissa holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University and earned her bachelor’s degree with distinction in journalism and creative writing from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, where she currently lives with her husband, her newborn daughter and her two extremely cuddly cats.
